LASER periodontitis treatment
BIOPARO® - Unique protocol in Romania for the treatment of periodontitis using 2-wavelength lasers (erbium and diode)
Periodontitis is considered to be the most serious dental disease, as untreated periodontitis leads to tooth loss.
Statistics show that 8 or even 9 out of 10 Romanians suffer from a gum problem, be it gingivitis or even worse, periodontitis.
How do I know if I have periodontitis?
The signs and symptoms of periodontitis are as follows:
- sore, red or even purplish-red gums
- bleeding when brushing your teeth
- gum recession
- very unpleasant mouth odor that does not go away even after brushing, mouthwash or chewing gum
- dental mobility (in advanced stages)
- changes in tooth position (spacing, lowering, etc.)
- bare tooth roots that may be sensitive to cold, hot, sweet
If you're experiencing one or more of these symptoms, it's advisable to see your dentist as soon as possible!
The longer you put off your initial visit to the doctor, the less likely you are to benefit from treatment to help you keep your natural teeth on your arches!

What causes periodontitis?
- unhealthy lifestyle - poor or non-existent dental hygiene, nutrient-deficient food (fast food, refined sugar, ultra-processed foods without the necessary intake of vitamins and minerals), vitamin D3, K2, calcium, etc. deficiencies, smoking, alcohol.
- chronic stress - during periods of prolonged stress, the immune system is lowered and inflammation and infections occur
- hereditary inheritance
- Incorrect bite (crooked, spaced or crowded teeth, reverse bite, etc.) - generates pressure on the teeth that is transmitted to the bone, which begins to resorb, causing gingival retraction and weakening of tooth stability.
- various general medical conditions (e.g. diabetes), certain medications that aggravate gum inflammation
Periodontitis is an infectious outbreak that is particularly harmful to the oral cavity and the rest of the body! The bacteria that cause periodontitis invade the brain, intestines, blood vessels and the heart!
How do you get periodontitis?
At first, the bacteria only inflame the gum, and the disease is called gingivitis. If we don't treat gingivitis in time, these bacteria continue to grow and work their way deeper, destroying the gum and bone - then we're already talking about periodontitis.
Over time, due to the loss of supporting bone and loosening of the roots, the teeth are no longer stable, become loose and become mobile and fall out of the arches.
WARNING! In the early stages, periodontitis does not manifest itself by tooth mobility! When the mobility has appeared, it is already at an advanced stage, with less chance of recovery of natural teeth. Don't wait until your teeth move!

WARNING! In Romania there are many people who go regularly to the dentist, but they are not diagnosed correctly and in time! It is recommended to ask for a second opinion if you have certain symptoms suggesting a gum problem!
What is BIOPARO® - laser treatment for periodontitis?
BIOPARO treatment is a unique treatment in Romania that uses state-of-the-art dental lasers with 2 different wavelengths to stop periodontitis.
Here are the stages of treatment:
- Initial consultation with intraoral camera for diagnosis and panoramic X-ray. Certain blood tests are frequently recommended to help make a more accurate diagnosis.
- Periodometry - measuring periodontal pockets and bone shrinkage and assessing the severity of the disease.
- Professional hygiene (scaling, brushing, airflow)
- The actual ERBIUM and DIODA laser treatment sessions - 4 sessions within a maximum of one week of each other
- List of oral hygiene recommendations, anti-inflammatory diet, natural supplements for bone and gum care
- Long-term laser treatment results maintenance program with regular cleaning, laser decontamination and ozone therapy, consultations and assessments.
Why is BIOPARO® consideredone of the most effective periodontal treatments?
- it is a non-surgical, painless (anesthesia is rarely needed), minimally invasive treatment
- DO NOT use the invasive earmould
- lasers are BACTERICIDE - they eliminate disease-causing bacteria WITHOUT ANTIBIOTICS!
- lasers vaporize infected subgingival tissues
- eliminates inflammation and bleeding
- stops the progression of the disease

What are the chances of keeping my natural teeth if I treat with BIOPARO®?
The sooner periodontitis is diagnosed, the better the chances of keeping your natural teeth on your arches. When there is very high tooth mobility with missing bone, the treatments are more complex and dental implants, bone additions, etc. will most likely be necessary. Our advice is therefore to come for a check-up as soon as the first gum bleeding appears!
WARNING! Some people have periodontitis but do not have heavy bleeding gums, especially if they smoke, use certain anti-bleeding toothpastes, etc. This does not mean that the disease does not progress!
