Aesthetic dentistry was born out of people's desire to have a beautiful and long-lasting smile. According to the American Dental Association, more than 80% of patients who opt for cosmetic dentistry procedures have increased self-confidence and self-confidence, and their relationships with others have beneficial repercussions in their daily lives.

Fortunately, cosmetic dentistry has gained more and more importance in daily practice, giving more and more confidence to patients, but, unfortunately, many of them prefer only aesthetics (i.e. a rehabilitation in the frontal area) neglecting more important things related to functionality or restoration of masticatory function. This is where the role of the dentist comes in, who must see the oral cavity as a whole.

Aesthetic dental treatments

1. Teeth whitening - in Life Dental Spa clinic, tooth whitening is done with laser (according to studies it has proven to be less aggressive on tooth enamel);

2. Gingival reshaping (gingivoplasty) is indicated when dental esthetics suffer from too much exposure of the gums. Thus, the dentist may recommend gingival reshaping to patients who are unhappy with their smile because the gum has an irregular contour, is thickened or covers too much of the tooth surface. Gingival reshaping can also be done with the help of the dental laser, often without anesthesia, healing is quick and easy.

3. Dental veneers - can be done directly in the dentist's office, using the direct veneer technique, or indirectly, in the laboratory. Dental veneers do not affect sensitive tooth structures and succeed in restoring the dental aesthetics of your smile. They successfully cover imperfections caused by cracks or destruction of the tooth crown.

Tooth venealing is recommended in the following cases:

  • Mild malpositions or malocclusions (crowded teeth or teeth spaced too far apart, such as clenching);
  • stains on tooth enamel;
  • Unevenly colored or dark teeth;
  • shade differences between the artificial dental crown (in the case of a dental implant) and the enamel of natural teeth;
  • chipped or fractured teeth;
  • shredded teeth due to bruxism;
  • teeth that have undergone visible dental treatments or have other aesthetic problems;
  • tooth-colored fillings. Tooth-colored fillings have replaced amalgam fillings (gray in color) which not only were not very aesthetically pleasing, but also proved to be toxic to the body.

4. The zirconia crown is a fixed prosthetic restoration and belongs to the category of highly esthetic dental restorations. Due to its optical properties, zirconia closely mimics the appearance of a natural tooth.

This esthetic integration is achieved because zirconia is available in multiple shades. Both the zirconia core and the ceramic layering material are selected from the outset to match the color and characteristics of the patient’s natural dentition.

The main advantages of zirconia crowns include high translucency, corrosion resistance, and excellent biocompatibility. Translucency refers to the material’s ability to transmit and reflect light in a manner similar to natural tooth enamel, contributing to a natural and lifelike appearance.
